Have you ever stopped to wonder why is it that the Kardashian family is so famous? None of them seem to be able to act, or sing, or write, or direct, or do any of the usual things that would make you a world-wide known name. So, what is it? What is that j'en sais quoi that they all seem to have? It’s attitude. And confidence, and drive, and one hell of a business mind. From Kim, to Kris, to the Jenner sisters, they all have IT.
Kylie herself is, arguably, the one with most of it at this point in time. With millions and millions of social media followers across Twitter and Instagram alone, as well as with more than a handful of fashion collaborations under her belt, we could say that little Kylie has slowly become a fashion mogul in her own right. If you had any doubt about it, you simply have to check back at her wildly successful make up venture, where she sold out of her famous lip kits in less than 30 minutes….thrice. Granted, the product itself is pretty damn good (our very own Becca owns a few, and has nothing but good things to say about them), but what sells here is Kylie’s name, and her influence as a fashion icon.
We have gathered below some of Kylie’s most successful ventures into the fashion world, take a look at how the smallest of the Kardashian klan is slowly making her own way in the fashion world.
The million dollar deal she signed with Puma to promote their sneakers, did more than just infuriate Kanye – understandably so, since his line of Yeezy are made by Puma’s competitor, Adidas. Her work as a brand ambassador for the company is expected to pull the company’s earnings up as soon as the images Kylie stars in hit the streets. The brand’s global director spoke about the decision by saying “Kylie represents a fresh and exciting new era for fashion and we couldn't think of a more fitting and influential female to headline this campaign for PUMA.”
Launched on June 3, 2015 the capsule collection Kylie designed with her sister Kendall for the UK mega brand was a sound success. Given that its prices were fairly low, anywhere between $52 to $150, the collection was accessible to the sister’s fans that normally couldn’t access their normal collaborations. It sold out in just a few days and prompted the brand to launch their second venture together “Kendall + Kylie Christmas”, and the sister’s swimwear collection which will be coming out this year.
Her own namesake make up brand, her biggest hit are her terribly successful $29 lip kits in a variety of colours. She first began selling them in November of 2015, and her entire stock sold out in mere minutes, and so did the subsequent batches she put on the market. If you’re lucky enough, you might score some on the black market (a.k.a Ebay), but even then you’ll have a hard time finding any where the prices are not super inflated – there have been rumors about a few selling for $3000. Our opinion tho? Well more than worth it.
